Ohio Budget Reform

OSCPA works closely with Ohio’s government leaders to find innovative solutions that will create jobs, lower the tax burden and foster Ohio's economic growth.

OSCPA has successfully worked with legislators to implement several important reforms. Many of these reforms sprang from OSCPA’s Ohio Budget Advisory Task Force, which recommended solutions to government leaders in a comprehensive Task Force Report. Recommendations included streamlining state and local government, reducing costly regulations that slow business growth and creating a jobs-friendly environment in Ohio.

More recently, OSCPA has been working with government leaders regarding Gov. John Kasich’s “Jobs 2.0” budget – a bold, multi-pronged plan to overhaul the state’s tax structure that includes reducing the state’s reliance on income tax and expanding Ohio’s sales tax base to include many services.

The plan is intended to create jobs and make Ohio more competitive. OSCPA will be following the budget deliberations closely, particularly the proposal to tax accounting, legal and other professional services.
