Director of Marketing

The Ohio Society of CPAs, a leading association with 21,000 members, seeks a Director of Marketing with experience creating cutting edge marketing programs for innovative product and service lines that achieve key business and revenue goals. This professional will:
  • Develop strategic, integrated marketing campaigns that increase demand and revenue for a growing suite of continuing education products including conferences, seminars and a robust webcast and on‐demand program
  • Conceive targeted campaigns that drive membership growth and retention, particularly among targeted prospect groups
  • Manage the association’s branding program, ensuring strong and consistent marketing messaging across all programs and channels to build awareness and demand for association products and services and reinforce its unique value propositions to target audiences.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for new programs and services
  • Evaluate ROI of all marketing programs on sales results, membership growth and retention
  • Have an in‐depth knowledge of the issues and trends affecting members decisions to buy or use association products and services, and those of competing organizations
  • Explore partnerships with outside organizations to broaden the Society’s marketing potential to nonmembers
  • Lead a high‐impact marketing team of four, providing day‐to‐day management, staff development and coaching
  • Manage marketing budgets and provide consulting/recommendations to business owners in how to best invest marketing dollars to achieve program goals and key performance metrics for priority business lines
  • Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related business field from an accredited university
Requirements:
  • 10+ years’ experience in a strategic marketing or business position leading the marketing strategy and execution of successful lines of business
  • Association management experience preferred along with the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential
  • Strong understanding of market and business dynamics
  • Proven ability to create successful branding programs and comprehensive marketing campaigns that meet business objectives
  • Proven experience managing a high‐impact, in‐house marketing team
  • Creative problem solving and analytical thinking combined with the ability to advise and effectively collaborate with business owners at all levels
  • Ability to manage complex projects within deadline and budget parameters
  • Ability to work with analytical/IT business partners to capture, analyze and translate data into actionable marketing strategies
  • Superior organizational and communication skills are required

Strategic Relationships Manager
The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), a leading association with 21,000 members and affiliates, seeks a Strategic Relationships Manager with experience creating and selling successful sponsorship, advertising and exhibiting packages, managing and developing key business relationships and growing valuable member/customer benefits and services. This professional will: 
  • Cultivate and grow all sponsorship, advertising and exhibiting sales to meet annual revenue goals
  • Build prominent relationships with businesses that provide cutting-edge resources for CPAs, the accounting profession and their clients/customers 
  • Manage the association’s affinity partner benefit program. Review and finalize contracts and develop promotional activities that leverage OSCPA marketing and communications to grow awareness and demand for these programs
  • Assist in conducting research to identify trends and opportunities for new programs and services that meet CPA’s needs. Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape for these programs 
  • Work with strategic affinity partners and other resource providers to secure educational articles for OSCPA’s publications and website
  • Educate OSCPA staff to be proficient in communicating and cross-promoting member affinity and benefit programs and strategic marketing opportunities 
  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive sales and relationship management system to manage prospecting, track sales efforts and measure results against targeted business and revenue goals 
  • Attend OSCPA accounting shows, education conferences and other professional events to manage on-site exhibiting and sponsorship activities and cultivate future business development opportunities
  • Assist in budget planning and revenue and expense tracking
Education: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business management or administration, marketing, communications, or a relevant degree and more extensive work experience is required
Requirements: 
  • 5+ years’ experience in a strategic and successful sales position; association background or knowledge of association environment is desirable
  • Proven ability to create and grow successful sponsorship, advertising and exhibiting programs and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and revenue goals
  • Web, social media and electronic advertising experience preferred
  • Excellent relationship building skills and experience collaborating effectively with outside organizations and association leadership through face-to-face and other communications methods
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening and communications skills
  • Strong understanding of marketing and business dynamics
  • Creative problem solving and analytical thinking combined with the ability to advise and effectively collaborate with business owners at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Some travel within Ohio required
